Orange County Orange County

The early 1970’s was the pinnacle of citrus crops in Orange County. Only a decade later groves were subjected to terrible growing conditions and farmers were financially impacted. Many growers walked away from the land while others waited to see what new opportunities arose. As the area became dormant for agriculture the popularity and success of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida flourished. The attractions created new job opportunity and the land was able to be developed for housing.

While Walt Disney World and Universal Studios are probably the most well-known attractions in Orange County by people across the United States, it is also home to other major corporations. AAA, Darden Restaurants, Hard Rock Café, Siemens and Wyndham Vacation Resorts are just a few companies that have stationed their headquarters in Orlando as well.

If you are looking to buy a new house, relocate, move out of state or even retire you should consider Florida. The Sunshine state has something to offer everyone. There is always great shopping and dining options to meet anyone’s taste and style. Young adults and singles can enjoy the nightlife with highly rated clubs. Families and kids have countless theme parks, museums, outdoor adventures and entertainment options year-round. And the seniors, they have the most to gain. To start, active adult and retirement communities are popping up everywhere. These communities are great if you are an empty nester or if you are looking to retire but not ready to slow down just yet. The weather is phenomenal, during the summer temperature highs average 81 degrees with occasional showers help keeping it cool and winters average 60 degrees. This is desirable for the aging as arthritis and regulating body temperature become a concern. Specialized health care and accessible living is more common since the population is heavy with seniors. An added bonus is that there is no income tax, inheritance tax or estate tax.

No matter what stage of life you are in, Florida is a great place to consider calling home.
